2016 - 2017 Benecifiaries

International Women’s Club of Moldova 2016 goal is to bring light to those forgotten by the World and Support Women and Children throughout the Cycle of life: children, adolescents, adults and the elderly in Moldova.

The organizations the IWCM have selected to be the beneficiaries of the 2016 Winter Charity Bazaar are:

1. SOS Autism Centre, Chisinau: the raised money will fund a new Sensory Therapy Room/Space as well as other furniture for the Centre. These items are critical and will advance the educational tools for the centre.

2. Women’s Law Centre, Chisinau: the Women’s Law Centre launched a small project “Social and economical support for survivors of domestic violence” in 2015-2016 in order to provide social, financial and informational support for the most vulnerable women, victims of domestic violence and ensure their long-term financial sustainability and self-confidence. For 2017 the WLC reached out to the IWCM to continue this support for seven survivors and their children. The funds raised will go to support the seven women and their children (aged between 16 and 33) chosen by the WLC to help them on their path to sustainability and independence.

3. Rasarit Day Care Center for Elderly, in Straceni: this center for elderly serves 74% women. The goal of the center is to increase health, strength and empower middle aged to older women to re-join community. The IWCM will help the “Dignity Project” for the women serviced by the day center. This will help the center renovate and create a private showering space for the women to help support them as they begin to value themselves and increase their self-worth. Depending on the funds raised, the IWCM will also sponsor other furniture or medical equipment the center may need.

4. Hincesti Orphanage and Emilita Lux SRL Project: this project supports 10 girls with disabilities from the Hincesti orphanage who have been given the opportunity to work with Emilita Lux although they have mental/physical disabilities. By the funds raised the IWCM plans on purchasing 10 sewing machines for the young women as they take their first steps to self-sustainability.
