Night Of Art

Since 2004 the International Women’s Club of Moldova (IWCM) has been holding an event each spring known as the Night of Art. The aim of this event is to showcase the beautiful works of Moldovan artists as well as to raise money for IWCM’s Charity Work. The Night of Art could only happen thanks to the help and generosity of Moldovan artists as well as sponsors who donate money, music, food and drink to the event and our media partners who help us pro bono with publicity.
In the seven years since it began (2004 – 2016) the Night of Art has raised over $85,000 for good causes in Moldova with a special emphasis on supporting women and children.
The idea of holding the event came from the US Ambassador to Moldova and a member of the IWCM, Heather Hodges. Ambassador Hodges was part of a similar event in Peru and suggested organizing a Moldovan Night of Art.

In 2004 and 2005, the event was held at the Museum of History. Since 2006 the event has taken place at Moldexpo, with the exception of the 2010 edition, which took place at the Constantin Brancusi Exhibition Centre, thanks to the generosity of the Moldovan Union of Artists.
Traditionally there has been an entrance fee for this event of around $10 and over the years artists have contributed either by paying a commission fee, or a participation fee.
Artists keep the profits they make from their sales and all proceeds that the IWCM generate from the event go to charity.
